I had a "free project" in one of my classes, so I used it to paint something I actually wanted to paint. I'm fairly happy with how it turned out. (this was done in March)

Aw, thanks ^^

Do you mean the border/background? I started out by making black lines/shapes in Photoshop. A lot of them are crescent shapes that are just turned/resized/repeated. Then when I was done with that, I selected all of the black shapes, and contracted the selection, then cut it. That basically just leaves the outside edges, and I put fun textures behind that.
